This photography is OFF site, so participants must be prepared to walk at least half a mile (which is not far!) some times up hill and preferably not die of a heart attack in doing so. We are looking for great backgrounds and spectacular views as setting for the birds. Some of the opportunities will be static birds and some for the adventurous will be free flying birds.
Be ready at the Centre by 10.00 am, we will have a quick session with a bird here and a coffee and then move off to the chosen site of the day. During the morning session we will have three different birds out, one at a time, each in a different setting and we will move from one to the next, some will be static shots and some may be flying.
Lunch might be a picnic or we may come back to the Centre, to give everyone a break, loo stop, and recoup as we change over birds and staff, this will be a weather-dependent day. After lunch three more birds will be used, again some flying and some as static birds for portrait shots, these will be in different settings with good backdrops.
We aim to be flexible with our plans depending on the weather, the birds available on the day, which of course change over the year, and what you, the photographers would like. Suffice it to say that you will have some stunning opportunities to get great shots.
At 4.15 we will arrive back at the Centre when participants are welcome to wander round, photograph the last flying demonstration or the trained birds in the Hawk Walk before we close at 5.30pm.
Please note: We apologise but should it occur that there are not enough people to make the course viable for us we will have to ask you to choose another date. We need to have at least 5 people on the photography days.
