Police Wildlife Liaison Officers' Course (PWLO)
This Course has been running for approximately 6 years and has trained in the region of 80% of the Countries constabulary, as well as RSPB officers & RSPCA officers. It is designed for those people who may need to work with birds being confiscated, seized, blood tested for DNA and other such problems that any law enforces might cross. It has been designed to improve the confidence of such officers, so that they can complete their job without any worry or injury to themselves or the birds and also to make sure the bird is caused no stress and handled correctly.
The course runs over two days, with physical handling training, identification, testing, health and safely procedures, and some flying experience.
Training is given by qualified Centre Staff. The course is held at the Centre with wonderful facilities, instructors and surroundings.
