A 10.00 start and you join the falconer and start by flying an owl to your fist in the flying field. After coffee and a guided tour of the owls, you will then learn the techniques of handling, weighing and training an owl.

 

Owls are more difficult to train than the diurnal birds of prey, but very nice people to get to know. You will then work with more owls before stopping for Lunch, which is included in your ticket.

 

After lunch you will meet various different species and groups of owls including eagle owls, barn owls, tawny owls, snowy owls depending on the time of year and who is in working condition at the time.

You will continue working with the owls and learning some of the training techniques. You will also watch one of the afternoon demonstrations.

 

Depending on the weather we end the day with a walk round the wood with an owl attending! The day finishes about 4pm.
