Drawing Workshop at the ICBP
Have you ever wished you could learn to draw animals, recreating the movement, textures and detail to be found in the natural world? In addition to the expert tuition provided on this course, it is also the most truly interactive art experience you can find; a chance to see the subject you are working on close at hand. What better way to learn about feather textures and detail than seeing it on a bird up close!
Your day starts at 10.00am with an introduction to basic drawing techniques, the materials used to create different shading textures and the techniques used to create the look of hair and feathers. The practical part will work on sketching techniques and capturing movement, with the help of birds at the centre.
We will break for lunch from 1.30 to 2.30pm
The afternoon will be spent working on your own drawing, wth the emphasis on detail. Adam will be on hand the whole time for individual tuition and guidance. You will also get the chance to meet a bird up close to help inspire your work!
The day finishes at 4.15 pm with a review session
Throughout the day, tea and coffee will be available as the cafe is close by.
The first workshop was on Sun 11th September 2011 and proved to be very successful. The next is on Sunday 1st April 2012.
The day is designed to help everyone from complete novices to experienced artists.
Your tutor for the day is Adam Crisford who spent years working as a professional wildlife artist, as well as selling work internationally. His work has been exhibited in the Mall Gallery, London and in the Nature in Art Museum, Tigworth.
Amongst others, his work has appeared in the finals of both the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year and David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year.
He has been working here at the ICBP since 2009
